Engineering Expertise in the Plastic Injection Molding Process Engineering Expertise in the Plastic Injection Molding Process

The success of each injection molding project begins with meticulous planning and preparation. The intricate steps are complex, with numerous variables that require precise calibration and timing. At QPE Corporation, we utilize the latest design tools, including AutoDesk Inventor for 3D modeling and AutoCAD for 2D prints.

Our experienced engineers can assist with part design and material recommendations, ensuring every step of the injection molding process is optimized for ideal results. QPE Corporation  offers industry-leading expertise in every relevant discipline, including:

Material selection Material selection

Selecting the right material for the job requires knowledge of a wide range of plastics and an understanding of their respective properties in relation to the intended use of the final product.

Melting Melting

Prior to injection, the plastic (in the form of small pellets) must be melted to a precise temperature to achieve the correct viscosity for successful injection.

Injection Injection

Molten plastic is injected under pressure into the mold cavity. For success, the rate of injection and the pressure applied must be calculated and maintained precisely.

Ejection Ejection

After cooling, the solidified part is ejected from the mold. Ejector pins or other mechanisms can aid in successful ejection.

QPE Corporation currently produces injection-molded products using these plastic resins:

  • ASA
  • Polypropylene-All types
  • Polyethylene/HDPE-All types
  • Polystyrene/HIPS
  • Polycarbonate
  • Acrylic
  • Copolyester
  • Polyester
  • ABS-All types
  • Nylon (polyamide)-All types
  • Santoprene
  • Acetal
Cooling Cooling

Cooling channels or other cooling methods are used to control the temperature and ensure the plastic solidifies uniformly.
